Frequently asked
On Mac or iPad, start a new presentation and choose a lesson, pitch, event or portfolio template, the animated example, or a blank deck. Templates contain editable objects and speaker notes. On Mac, use Templates… to reopen the library. iPhone remains a viewer and remote.
Yes. Select unlocked objects and choose a motion preset. The seven presets include Gentle Fade, Slide In Together, Reveal Points on Click, Reveal Words, Chart Entrance, Emphasise on Click and Remove All Motion. Point reveals use separate selected text objects; word and chart presets need matching object types. Timing stays editable.
New recovery versions preserve the presentation, referenced media and embedded fonts. Restoring checks those resources before changing the open document and can be undone. Older recovery versions may contain only the presentation model and cannot recover media that was never captured. Keep a separate backup of important work.
Use Open… in the starter library (Templates… on Mac). It validates supported native JSON documents, legacy packages and PowerPoint presentations, then opens an independent, unsaved copy. Save it as .moslidedoc. The original is unchanged. Invalid files and unsupported future native versions show an error.
Open MoSlide → Settings → AI Connections, enable local connections and create a named connection. Choose the decks and import/export folders it may access, then copy the generated configuration into your local MCP assistant. Keep MoSlide running. Cloud-only assistants cannot use this local connection. The assistant provider may process content you share; read the privacy policy before granting access.
Use Settings → AI Connections on Mac to remove deck or folder grants, switch off live permissions, revoke a connection or disable the feature. Deck and live permissions reset when MoSlide closes or AI Connections is disabled; paired credentials and folder grants persist until removed. Revocation stops future access through MoSlide and does not delete copies already held by the assistant or its provider.
A comp is a reusable animated scene. Build it once, place it on a slide, use it as a background, or make it a custom slide transition. VideoComps add three tracks for clips, text, shapes, paths, images, and nested comps.
Yes. Keyframe position, scale, rotation, opacity, fill, text, font, shadow, blur, stroke, image, media adjustments, masks, points, anchors, text-path position, and corner radius. Each object keeps its own timing.
Yes. Add a web layer when the page needs to stay live, or cache the page when you want a dependable snapshot for a venue with uncertain internet access.
Open your presentation and choose Play, Play Current Slide, Play on External Screen, or Play Current Slide on External Screen. Starting a presentation does not force you into an interactive check-in; interactive activities remain an option you choose.
MoSlide: Viewer & Remote lets you open and present MoSlide documents from Files or iCloud Drive. You can also connect to a presenting Mac or iPad and use your iPhone as a remote. Create and edit presentations on Mac or iPad.
Select the linked text value, turn on update while presenting, and choose a 10, 20, or 30-second interval. MoSlide performs the initial check and then refreshes continuously while that slide is on screen.
Yes. Choose the display, face and hand styles, colours, progress fill, sound timing and hand direction. You can also set the font, timer and number sizes and weights, and animate digit changes with flip, roll, spin, blur, crossfade and other transitions.
Yes. Add a Video Playlist, build its order from imported videos or Assets, then advance automatically or on click. Automatic playlists can loop, and fit, mute, speed and colour adjustments apply to the whole list.
Yes. Add a Music Visualiser and use the slide's background music or a separate audio asset. Choose from ten styles and tune colours, sensitivity, smoothing, glow, peaks, reflections and other shape controls.
Yes. Add an ordered background music playlist in the Slide inspector. Start it with the slide or on click, keep it playing across slides, and set a crossfade between tracks from 0 to 20 seconds. Zero uses a gapless cut.
Insert Local Interactive ▸ Live Poll. People on the same local network join from the QR code and vote from their phones while results appear on the slide. A connected iPhone or iPad Remote can open or pause voting and reset votes.
On Mac, choose Play & Record or Play Current Slide & Record. MoSlide records the target display and its on-screen sound; on macOS 15 or later, Microphone permission also lets it record your voice. Exit playback to finish and save the movie in MoSlide Documents.
Yes. Connect an iPhone or iPad Remote, open Draw Mode, and mark up its live slide preview with adjustable pen colours and sizes. You can erase or clear ink while keeping slide, scene, camera and black-screen controls close by.
Yes. Turn on Allow Connected Mic in Playback settings, choose and test an input, then route it directly to the Mac's speakers with much less delay than Remote Mic. Set volume, mute, feedback protection and whether it supplies Live Captions.
Yes. Insert an Interactive Quiz and switch on team mode when you want participants to answer in teams. Leave team mode off for individual play.
Run Presentation Check for missing assets, permissions, and broken interactive destinations. Then connect the display, check the selected screen, play any audio or video, and confirm local network access if the deck includes an interactive activity.
MoSlide keeps presentation documents in the location you select on your device or chosen storage provider. Back up important decks before a live event.
